About 50/50 old (from the previous showreel) and new.
A typical “newbie” task when arriving Love (the studio where I work) is to create different renderings of the Love logo, mostly used in presentations and pitches. I was asked to make some more technical ones, representing the increased focus on interior projects, as well as whisky and bling. Here are the more successful ones I made.
Might get around to taking better photos later. Meanwhile, a couple of caps i made with pens and fat textile paint.
Last year I made an animation short featuring a lone old man and his robotic protegé. Included was a logo that I never got the time to animate / figure out how to animate smoothly. It’s a perfect case for my Cinema4d studies, here’s the progress:
First week of Cinema4d. I always thought it was a crappy 3d-light app for beginners. Turns out it’s pretty darn excellent, with disgustingly easy rig get a lot of effects I’ve been doing in Maya. Above: Type text, click tnt button, play around, render.
Below: Bob & Rob, an animated short about a man and his robot, hand drawn, coloured in photoshop, animated in After Effects with puppet tool. Note: Due to the short production period, there are some rough edges. Since then, I’ve left the timing and animation alone, but I’ve updated the art style, as seen in a still in my portfolio.
Below: Studies with “smart particles” in Maya, for use with a music visualization project, particles behaves like a slow liquid.
Below: Studies with line rendering in Maya, models are from Team Fortress 2, music by Ralph Myerz
Below: Intro to a game concept, Illustrator drawing + straight forward After Effects animation and compositing.
Below: A zBrush character, rendered still image, dirty-guerilla-style-animated (using liquify) and composited in After Effects.
Here’s a collection of the coolest video material I’ve seen, cut and edited by myself.
Here’s a random sketch for a logo / profile element for a duo called Ronin. Ronin is the name for a masterless samurai. I experimented around with with a bit of the “mystique” and thought of a symbol that could’ve been carved by samurai swords.
New website online at sivertb.no
Included is this blog. Dunno how much I’ll use it, but maybe in a year, I’ll be the new celebrity blogger, hired to do celebrity make overs (ie, taking them to the hairdresser + giving them a scarf and a pair of sunglasses). One can always dream.
